How to Hinge Roses

Roses on Hinge are a great way to let someone know that you are especially interested in them. When you offer someone a Rose, you immediately shoot to the top of their "Likes You" deck. But are Roses actually effective in helping you find romance on the app that was designed to be deleted? Are do they instead come across as weird and overbearing? This wikiHow article helps you decide whether or not you should send Roses on Hinge, and helps you send them as effectively as possible!

[Edit]Things You Should Know

  • Roses send your profile to the top of another user's "Likes You" deck.
  • Hinge offers users one free weekly Rose, but additional Roses will cost you money. The weekly Roses do not accumulate.
  • Prioritize developing your profile and a few clever opening lines before relying on Roses.

[Edit]What are Roses on Hinge?

  1. If you see somebody on Discover or Standouts that you really like, give them a Rose to show your interest. When you send a Rose, you'll show up at the top of the person's "Likes You" screen! Roses are Hinge's way of allowing users to show extra interest in someone—more than just "liking" them.

[Edit]When to Send Roses on Hinge

  1. Perfect your profile before sending Roses. Roses may be a valuable feature on Hinge, but they won't get you far if you do not have a strong profile in the first place. This wikiHow article can help you create the best Hinge profile possible!

  2. Prepare a few compliments or openers. While you can send a Rose without a compliment, including some text will make it much more impactful. Try to respond naturally to someone's photo or prompt. If you are struggling, this wikiHow article offers some excellent opening lines on Hinge.

  3. Consider whether you could start a conversation. A Rose can be a great way to get the attention of a user who you might think would otherwise overlook you. But if you think you could have a great conversation anyway, consider laying off the Rose.

[Edit]What's the Difference Between a Rose and a Like?

  1. Roses go to the front of a user's "Likes You" deck. Both Roses and Likes notify the other user, and both can include an attached comment. But only Roses immediately send your profile to the top of another user's "Likes You" deck.

  2. Likes are free, but Roses cost money. While there is still a limit on the number of likes you can use, they do not cost you anything. Roses require you to pay after you use your weekly free one.

    • Because Likes are free, you may want to consider sending one when a Rose is not available.
